Enjoy lazy hours in Bagnoles de l'Orne, town of legends and rejuvenating spas in one of the period villa built in the Anglo-Norman style at the end of the 19th century. Bois Joli, a family run hotel, set amongst the trees has preserved its serenity and its original surroundings. All rooms are Regency or Norman style. From the windows, you will enjoy the view on majestic sequoias which abound in the 3000 sq meters hotel park situated at the edge of the beautiful forest d'Andaine. In the dining room you will be able to taste the refined dishes prepared for you by the Chef. Dishes which combine the subtile flavours of the region with surprising spices. In the woods which surround the little town, enjoy the change of colours by discovering the country either walking, horse riding or on mountain bike. The tranquillity and quality of life in Bois Joli provide a daily happiness. In the middle of the town the serenity of the lake, in which the casino reflects his elegant facade, is only slightly broken by the flight of the swans and a few pedals-boats. |

Chateau de Carrouges
Austere but captivating, the castle of Carrouges is like a summary of history from the 11th to the 20th century. It was besieged by the Plantagenêts, then rebuilt during the Hundred Years War (keep), extended in the 15th century (Blosset wing), decorated during the Renaissance (Pavilion of Cardinal Le Veneur) and fortified again during the wars of Religion (western bastion). Then, it became a magnificent residence in the 17th century (big flats) and was restructured in the Age of the Enlightenment (music room).
