The Marshal de Saxe won several battles. Louis XV, grateful, appointed him Marshal of France and gave him Chambord as well as a few privileges. The marshal de Saxe bought the Chateau de la Grange, now named after him. His passing in these places gives us the beautiful decorations on the big gallery. Knight, he made trophies of the battles and hunts on the drawings of La Touche. The Chateau is surrounded by an enormous park enclosed by thick walls. |
